The Maelstrom

The Maelstrom is a zone players briefly enter upon first traveling to Deepholm and other phased scenes. Deathwing used the Maelstrom to cause The Shattering, and as such, it plays a crucial role in Dragon Soul. Players cannot PvP or fly in The Maelstrom.
